Is this a laser?+

No. It uses IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), which is a broad-spectrum light and different from a medical laser. IPL is the technology used in most home hair-removal devices.

Will it work on my skin and hair?+

IPL works by targeting the pigment in hair, so it generally suits dark hair on light to medium skin and isn't recommended on very dark or tanned skin, or on white, grey, red or light blonde hair. Check the instructions supplied with the device and do a patch test first.

Which energy level should I start with?+

Start at level 1 and increase gradually according to how your skin responds. Don't jump to a higher level to speed things up.

What's the difference between auto and manual mode?+

In auto mode, long-pressing the release button gives continuous flashing, which suits larger areas such as legs and arms. In manual mode, each press gives a single flash, which gives you more control on smaller or more sensitive areas. Keep the lamp head flat and at 90° to the skin.
